About the Role:
The Assistant Director of Nursing at Los Palos Convalescent Hospital plays a pivotal role in supporting the Director of Nursing to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care within the facility. Minimum Qualifications:
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree or equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of nursing practices, healthcare regulations, and patient care standards.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and lead nursing teams effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
- Experience working in a long-term care or convalescent hospital setting.
- Certification in Nursing Leadership or Administration (e.g., Nurse Executive Certification).
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems and healthcare management software.
- Experience in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing daily nursing operations to ensure efficient and effective patient care delivery.
- Supervise and mentor nursing staff, including scheduling, performance evaluations, and professional development.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal healthcare regulations, as well as hospital policies and procedures.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and monitor patient care outcomes to enhance service delivery.
- Support the Director of Nursing in budgeting, staffing, and resource allocation decisions.
- Respond to patient and family concerns promptly and professionally to maintain high satisfaction levels.
- Facilitate ongoing training and education programs to keep nursing staff updated on best practices and regulatory changes.
