Job Title: Packaging Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Packaging Technician to join our team. In this role, you will apply Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and customer requirements to ensure the highest quality of pharmaceutical products. Your primary duties will involve manual or automated assembly, manufacturing, filling, packaging, and labeling of products. You will also participate in the start-up and closure of packaging jobs, perform in-process inspections, and ensure cleanliness of packaging rooms and machinery.
Responsibilities
- Apply Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and customer requirements in all areas of responsibility.
- Comply with all safety regulations and conduct all activities in a safe, efficient manner.
- Perform manual or automated assembly, manufacturing, filling, packaging, and labeling of pharmaceutical products.
- Act as the primary performer of in-process and AQL inspections.
- Participate in start-up and closure of packaging jobs.
- Clean packaging rooms and machinery in accordance with SOPs and GMP.
- Accept or reject in-process clinical supplies and drug products.
- Perform computer-related tasks for job sign-in, in-process actions, and data entry.
- Perform counts of components and drug products.
Essential Skills
- Ability to work with hand-eye coordination, dexterity, and attention to detail.
- Capability to perform repetitive tasks with both hands.
- Working mathematical skills for counting, adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, fractions, and percentages.
- Interpretation of 2D Diagrams and batch paperwork.
- Ability to meet physical requirements such as standing continuously and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and execute the content of English work documents.

- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Initiative and adaptability to changing circumstances.
- Ability to accept and learn from feedback.
- Experience working in Primary, Secondary, Refrigerated (2 to 8°ree; C), and Freezer (-20°ree; C) environments.

Work Environment
This position requires working in a clean room environment that involves gowning. Candidates must be okay working in a freezer environment, with up to 80% of the day potentially spent in cold conditions. Personal Protective Equipment Certification is required, including filtering face masks, PAPR, N-95 masks, half face masks, and safety glasses. Additional pay is provided for working in refrigerated and freezer environments.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Allentown, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.55/hr.
