Job DescriptionRadiologic Technologist (Rad Tech)

Full-Time | Nebraska | $95,160 Annual Salary + $2,000 Sign-On Bonus


The Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures to assist providers in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role operates in a 15-bed Critical Access Hospital and works closely with a small, collaborative clinical team to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate is dependable, patient-focused, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general radiographic imaging procedures in accordance with physician orders and safety standards
  • Prepare and position patients for exams while ensuring comfort and proper technique
  • Operate radiology equipment and maintain image quality
  • Follow radiation safety and infection control protocols
  • Accurately document procedures in Cerner EMR
  • Provide on-call coverage and respond to after-hours imaging needs
  • Maintain equipment and stock supplies as needed
  • Collaborate with providers, nurses, and support staff to ensure timely patient care

Schedule & Call Requirements

  • Four 10-hour shifts weekly (may transition to five 8-hour shifts)
  • On-call 1–2 nights per week
  • On-call every third weekend
  • Rotating holiday coverage
  • Call-off notification required at least 2 hours prior to shift

Qualifications

Required:

  • Current Nebraska Radiography License
  • ARRT Certification
  • CPR Certification
  • Associate’s Degree in Radiologic Technology

Experience:

  • No minimum experience required – new graduates encouraged to apply

Work Environment

  • 15-bed Critical Access Hospital
  • Department staffed by 3 technologists
  • Jewelry/body adornments allowed within reason
  • Flu vaccine required (or mask during flu season)

* Take x-rays and CAT scans or administer nonradioactive materials into patient's bloodstream for diagnostic or research purposes. Includes radiologic technologists and technicians who specialize in other scanning modalities.
* Position imaging equipment and adjust controls to set exposure time and distance, according to specification of examination.
* Determine patients' x-ray needs by reading requests or instructions from physicians.
* Prepare contrast material, radiopharmaceuticals, or anesthetic or antispasmodic drugs under the direction of a radiologist.
* Transport patients to or from exam rooms.
