Competitive hourly rates start at $65 per hour plus bonus commission. Candidates with meaningful experience can earn higher compensation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine dental cleanings, including scaling, root planing, and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
  • Assist with patient education on proper oral hygiene techniques, diet, and preventive care to maintain healthy teeth and gums.
  • Administer local anesthesia and perform sealant application for patients as required.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper film processing and adhering to safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with dentists to evaluate patients' oral health, identifying signs of potential concerns and assisting in treatment planning.
  • Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing oral surgeries or other treatments, educating them on home care and managing follow-up appointments.
  • Monitor patients’ periodontal health, conducting periodontal charting and assisting in the development of treatment plans for gum disease.
  • Stay current with advancements in dental hygiene techniques and technologies, attending relevant continuing education programs.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, documenting hygiene procedures, treatment recommendations, and patient progress.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited dental hygiene program.
  • Licensed to practice dental hygiene in the state (e.g., RDH license).
  • Experience in providing comprehensive dental cleanings and preventive care.
  • Proficiency in performing routine diagnostic and preventive procedures, including X-rays, fluoride treatments, and oral cancer screenings.
  • Strong communication skills for educating patients and collaborating with the dental team.
  • Commitment to patient care, with a focus on compassion and creating a comfortable environment for patients.
  • Willingness to stay updated on the latest dental hygiene techniques, advancements, and technologies through continuing education and professional development.
  • Compliance with all relevant legal and ethical standards in the practice of dental hygiene.
