A Grill Cook prepares and cooks food on grills, broilers, and roasters in a fast-paced kitchen environment. They ensure dishes are cooked to order and meet quality standards while maintaining a clean and organized work area. This role also involves teamwork and communication with other kitchen staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cooking: Prepare and cook various menu items on grills, broilers, and roasters.

  • Seasoning and Preparation: Season and prepare meat, vegetables, and other ingredients. Prepare sauces for the various meats and vegetable dishes.

  • Quality Control: Ensure food is cooked to the correct temperature and meets quality standards.

  • Organization: Maintain a clean and organized work area and grill station.

  • Safety: Follow all food safety procedures and regulations.

  • Communication: Communicate with other kitchen staff and front-of-house personnel.

  • Teamwork: Work effectively as part of a team.

  • Inventory: May assist with managing inventory and stocking supplies.

  • Maintenance: May assist with the maintenance and cleaning of grill equipment.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience: Prior experience in a kitchen setting, particularly with grill cooking, is often preferred.

  • Food Handling: Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices.

  • Cooking Techniques: Proficiency in grilling techniques and cooking various types of meat and vegetables.

  • Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with other kitchen staff and front-of-house personnel.

  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

  • Punctuality: Ability to arrive on time and be prepared for work.

Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift heavy objects.
