Our client is a manufacturing company specializing in hair care and cosmetic products. They're looking to add a Formulation Chemist (Hair) to their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$65k - $90k
Position Overview:
The Formulation Chemist (Hair) will oversee daily blending and packaging operations for hair care products, including shampoos, conditioners, and styling products. This role involves managing QC, troubleshooting production issues, training staff, and maintaining safe and efficient lab and manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities of the Formulation Chemist (Hair):
- Formulate and reformulate hair products such as shampoos, conditioners, creams, and oils.
- Perform testing and analysis on materials and finished products.
- Review and report lab data and process results.
- Work with the production team to improve quality, safety, and efficiency.
- Maintain, calibrate, and oversee lab equipment.
- Ensure compliance with company and safety standards.
Required Experience/Skills for the Formulation Chemist (Hair):
- 3+ years of experience in hair product formulation.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Excel and database tools.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Formulation Chemist (Hair):
- Experience in emulsion chemistry.
- Knowledge of packaging processes.
- Project management experience.
Education Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Cosmetic Science, or a related field is required.
