Job Title: Warehouse Supply Specialist

Job Description

The Warehouse Supply Specialist performs a wide range of materials, distribution, and logistics tasks within the Materials Management department to support clinical activities in a medical complex. This role focuses on accurately determining replenishment needs, locating and selecting medical supplies, documenting the receipt and issue of materials, and ensuring timely distribution of supplies and equipment throughout the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Determine replenishment requirements for medical supplies and materials to ensure clinical areas remain fully stocked.
  • Locate, select, and pick medical supplies and equipment according to established procedures and requests.
  • Accurately document the receipt, issue, and distribution of supplies and equipment in the inventory and materials management systems.
  • Perform shipping and receiving activities, including verifying incoming shipments, checking documentation, and preparing outgoing orders.
  • Use RF scanners and other scanning devices to record materials movement, inventory counts, and order fulfillment.
  • Conduct physical inventories and cycle counts to maintain accurate warehouse inventory levels.
  • Perform packing, packaging, and labeling of items for storage or distribution within the medical complex.
  • Handle materials safely and efficiently, including loading, unloading, and stocking shipments in designated storage locations.
  • Use computer systems, including email and Microsoft Office, to communicate, record transactions, and complete recordkeeping tasks.
  • Carry out quality control checks to ensure supplies are accurate, undamaged, and compliant with standards.
  • Collaborate with team members in a warehouse and hospital setting to support logistics and supply chain operations.
  • Work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled to provide continuous support to clinical operations.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of related work experience in materials management, logistics, warehouse, or a similar field.
  • Ability to work rotating weekends, rotating shifts, and some holidays.
  • Ability to stand on feet for the majority of the shift.
  • Physical ability to pick orders, stock shipments, and handle materials safely.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform recordkeeping tasks related to shipping, receiving, inventories, and quality control.
  • Experience with shipping and receiving processes.
  • Material handling and logistics experience.
  • Ability to use scanners or RF scan guns to record and track materials.
  • Computer literacy with intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working in a healthcare or hospital logistics environment.
  • Experience with warehouse inventory systems and logistics processes.
  • Familiarity with RF scanners and scan guns for order picking and inventory control.
  • Experience with packaging, labeling, and order picking.
  • Ability to use email and basic computer applications for communication and documentation.
  • Experience in logistics or materials management within a clinical or medical setting is highly desirable.

Work Environment

This role operates in a clean, climate-controlled environment within a hospital setting, supporting clinical operations through efficient materials management. The atmosphere is team oriented, with close collaboration among warehouse, logistics, and clinical support staff. Typical shifts include Monday through Friday with rotating weekends (every other weekend) and some holidays required, with shift options such as 3:00 a.m.–11:30 a.m., 5:00 a.m.–1:30 p.m., and 12:00 p.m.–8:30 p.m. The position involves frequent standing, walking, and physical material handling throughout the shift. The dress code consists of scrubs or office casual attire with sneakers, suitable for an active, hospital-based warehouse environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charleston, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $16.00/hr.
