SUMMARY:
The Construction Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment across all construction projects. This role works closely with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and field personnel to promote a culture of safety, ensure regulatory compliance, and minimize workplace incidents.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following:
- Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s Safety and Health Program
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations
- Conduct regular job site inspections and enforce safety standards
- Lead safety orientations, training sessions, and toolbox talks
- Investigate incidents and maintain accurate safety records
- Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure safety compliance
- Maintain all required safety documentation and reporting logs
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Construction Management, or related field (preferred)
- Minimum 5+ years of construction safety experience
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification (required)
- First Aid/CPR Certification
- CSP or CHST certification (preferred)
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of construction safety standards and regulations
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to identify hazards and implement corrective actions
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
Working Conditions
- Frequent presence on active construction job sites
- Exposure to outdoor environments and varying weather conditions
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to wear required PPE at all times
Reporting Structure
- Reports to: General Superintendent and/or General Manager
- Works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Field Crews
