Senior AI Researcher - Deep Reinforcement Learning (Medical Devices)

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced AI Researcher with a strong background in Deep Reinforcement Learning (Deep RL) and a proven track record of innovation in the medical device field, evidenced by granted patents.


About the Role:

As an AI Researcher, you will be at the forefront of developing and implementing advanced Deep RL algorithms to enhance the functionality and efficacy of our medical devices. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, clinicians, and regulatory experts to translate research into impactful real-world solutions. Your expertise in Deep RL will be crucial in optimizing device performance, personalizing treatment protocols, and developing novel diagnostic and therapeutic applications.


Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement state-of-the-art Deep RL algorithms for medical device applications.
  • Conduct rigorous experimentation and evaluation of developed algorithms using simulated and real-world data.
  • Collaborate with engineers and clinicians to integrate Deep RL models into medical devices and workflows.
  • Contribute to the development of intellectual property, including patent applications and publications.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in Deep RL and related fields, and identify opportunities for innovation.
  • Analyze and interpret complex datasets from medical devices and clinical studies.
  • Document research findings and present results to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development of validation and verification protocols for AI-enabled medical devices.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. or M.S. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience with Deep RL algorithms and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Strong understanding of reinforcement learning concepts, including Markov Decision Processes (MDPs), policy optimization, and value function approximation.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing Deep RL solutions for complex problems.
  • Demonstrated experience in applying AI to medical devices or healthcare applications.
  • Significant experience with patent applications related to medical devices, particularly in AI-driven technologies.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and other relevant languages.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with medical device regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, CE) is a plus.
  • Experience in clinical data analysis is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with simulation environments for medical device development.
  • Knowledge of medical imaging and signal processing.
