Job DescriptionMachine Operator

Manufacturing Facility | Mitchell, SD

Starting Pay: $21–$30/hour (based on experience)

Top Pay: Tenured machine operators earn up to $40/hour

Shifts Available: 1st & 2nd shift

Schedules: 8‑hour and 12‑hour shifts

Bonus: $4,000 sign‑on bonus (paid out over the first year)

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Operate and monitor production machinery to meet quality and safety standards
  • Set up and troubleshoot production machine systems (Only mechanical)
  • Perform make‑ready processes using hand and power tools
  • Inspect products throughout production to ensure quality
  • Support feeder and inspector functions as needed
  • Perform routine troubleshooting and basic maintenance
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe
  • Assist with team lifting up to 50 lbs when required

What We’re Looking For

  • 1–2 years of machine operation or production experience
  • Mechanical and technical aptitude
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Experience with finishing machines or gluers is a plus
  • Feeder/Inspector experience preferred, not required
  • Mechanical aptitude (automotive, small engine repair, production machines) is beneficial
  • Comfortable with repetitive movement, heat, and noise typical of manufacturing

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing setting with heat and noise exposure
  • Steel‑toed boots required (reimbursed upon permanent hire)
  • Smoke‑free facility (no smoking on site)
  • Training starts on day shift before transitioning to assigned shift

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $28.00/hr.
