This position is located in Carbon County, PA, within a K-12 enhanced emotional support school setting. The role offers a contract duration through the current school year, tentatively ending June 12, 2026, with an immediate start available. Working approximately 32.5 to 35 hours per week, the focus is on providing targeted emotional support to students facing social and behavioral challenges.
Key responsibilities include delivering one-on-one or small group support tailored to students' emotional and behavioral needs, implementing behavior intervention plans developed by specialists, and assisting students with emotion regulation, conflict resolution, and social skills. Additional tasks involve data collection on student behaviors, facilitating transitions and sensory breaks, maintaining a supportive classroom environment, and collaborating closely with teachers and counselors. Support may also extend to personal care needs as required.
Preferred qualifications include a bachelors degree in juvenile justice, social behavior, or related fields, though candidates with an associates degree and significant relevant experience (minimum one year, preferably three) will be considered. Prior experience in emotional support or behavior-focused educational settings is strongly preferred. Candidates must demonstrate a strong understanding of emotional and behavioral disorders, proficiency in de-escalation and positive behavior techniques, and the ability to remain composed in high-stress situations. Basic computer skills for documentation and communication are also necessary.
