Long-Term Care Pharmacist Details and Compensation:

  • Location: Fridley, MN 55421 – 100% on site
  • Payrate: $64.27/hr
  • Required Availability: Mon-Fri + some weekends | Rotating Schedule 8am-430pm, 10am-630pm, 1130am-8pm

Long-Term Care Pharmacist Summary and Highlights:

The Pharmacist will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective dispensing of medications, providing patient consultations, and maintaining pharmacy operations during overnight hours.

  • This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
  • Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment and include health, optical, dental, life, and short-term disability insurance

Long-Term Care Pharmacist Responsibilities:

  • Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
  • Monitor patient medication compliance and over-usage patterns.
  • Ensure that the supply of medicines is within legal requirements.
  • Verify that prescribed medications are suitable for patients.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and pharmacy files.
  • Provide patient counseling on medications, including dosage, side effects, and drug interactions.
  • Offer services such as smoking cessation, blood pressure measurement, and cholesterol management.
  • Educate patients on the proper use of medical devices.
  • Compound medications for external or internal use, following established procedures.
  • Prepare sterile solutions according to proper aseptic techniques.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies.
  • Identify and address patients' drug-related problems, communicating effectively with healthcare professionals.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, other pharmacists, and pharmacy interns.

Long-Term Care Pharmacist Requirements:

  • PharmD required
  • Attendance mandatory for first 90 days
  • 1+ year of pharmacist experience - LTC preferably
  • MUST be licensed as a pharmacist in the state of MN
