Overview:

Insight Global is looking for an inpatient pharmacy technician for a Children's Hospital in the Charleston SC area. This person supports the pharmacy team in delivering safe, accurate, and timely medication services to patients within a hospital setting. This role involves preparing, dispensing, and distributing medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, while ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards and hospital policies.

Responsibilities:

• Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications for inpatient and outpatient use.
• Maintain accurate medication inventory, including ordering, stocking, and rotating supplies.
• Prepare sterile and non-sterile compounded medications following USP standards.
• Operate and maintain automated dispensing systems and other pharmacy equipment.
• Ensure proper labeling, packaging, and documentation of medications.
• Support medication reconciliation and patient safety initiatives.
• Adhere to hospital protocols, infection control procedures, and HIPAA regulations.
• Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement activities.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma / GED
• Current national certification (e.g., PTCB or ExCPhT)
• Active state pharmacy technician registration (in good standing).
• Sterile and non-sterile compounding experience.

Preferred:

• Completion of an accredited pharmacy technician training program.
• Previous hospital (inpatient) or healthcare pharmacy experience
• Epic experience
• Pyxis or Omnicell experience
• Pediatrics experience
