Summary
Job SummaryFamily Tree Ministry is hiring a Toddler Teacher to join our early childhood education team. This full-time position works with children ages 1–3, supporting daily routines, age-appropriate learning activities, and a safe, nurturing classroom environment.
We are looking for a dependable, caring educator who enjoys working with young children, values teamwork, and is committed to providing consistent, high-quality care and early learning experiences.
As a Christian childcare ministry, we value educators who serve children with patience, kindness, and intentional care in a faith-centered environment.
Schedule
- Full-time
- Approximately 40 hours per week
- Consistent weekday schedule
Duties
Duties
- Provide a warm, nurturing, and structured classroom environment for toddlers (ages 1–3).
- Support daily routines including meals, diapering/toileting, nap time, transitions, and play.
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that support social, emotional, language, and motor development.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom in accordance with licensing requirements.
- Observe and document children’s development and communicate regularly with families.
- Work collaboratively with assistant teachers and leadership to support classroom operations.
- Follow all center policies, safety procedures, and state licensing regulations.
Requirements
Required Skills
- Experience working with toddlers or young children in a childcare or early childhood setting.
- Genuine interest in early childhood development and caregiving.
- Ability to maintain a calm, patient, and positive classroom presence.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Reliability, punctuality, and professionalism.
- Willingness to learn and use required documentation and assessment tools.
- Ability to uphold and reflect the mission and values of Family Tree Ministry.
Nice To Haves
- Coursework or degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
- CDA credential or willingness to work toward one.
- Familiarity with Connecticut Early Learning and Development Standards (CT ELDS).
- Prior experience in a licensed childcare or preschool program.
