Looking for a Full-time, certified medical assistant to join a growing pain management practice in Pearland, Texas.
Administrative Duties:
- Answering telephones
- Greeting patients
- Checking in/Checking out patients
- Collecting patient fees
- Updating and filing patient medical records
- Scheduling appointments for new patient and follow-ups
- Arranging for hospital/surgery center procedures appointments
- Assist with preauthorization and insurance verifications
- Using Computer Applications
Clinical Duties:
- Taking medical histories, reconciles medications, obtain vital signs, height, weight and pain score and document in EMR
- Assist physician in explaining pain contract to patients
- Preparing patients and room for examination
- Assisting the physician during exams
- Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens
- Transmitting prescription refills as directed
- Comfortable using EMR (eclinicalworks a plus)
- Helps physician dispense and educate patients about Durable Medical Equipment
- Follow up on labs, imaging, patient progress in physical therapy
- Assists physician with coordination of care with other providers
- Scanning patient documents into EMR
- Answering patient telephone calls
- Correspondence of patient test results under physician direction
- Assists physicain with setting up for sterile pain procedures in office
- Assists physician with mobile x- ray for procedures
- Assists physician with preop/discharge and room turnover for office procedures
- Verifying insurances/preauths for procedures, meds, office visits
