As a Dietician, you would be a member of an interdisciplinary team and provide Medical Nutrition Therapy which may include consulting with physicians on nutrition support requests; planning and supervising the preparation of special diets and menus; maintaining safe and sanitary conditions; and training or assisting individuals, families, and staff to plan specialized and therapeutic nutrition care plans.
Duties include but are not limited to:
• Assessing and Monitoring the nutritional status of each individual admitted to the facility
• Developing, planning, and approving diets and menus.
• Consulting with healthcare providers on individual diet therapy programs to determine nutritional needs and diet restrictions.
• Complete an Annual Nutritional Assessment & Nutritional Diagnosis via the nutritional care process (NCP) for each individual based on his/her nutritional care needs.
• Perform monthly weight reviews, EHR chart reviews (labs, fluids, etc); documenting as needed and update diet orders, diet rosters and dining guidelines.
• Participate in the development of seasonal menus tailored to the individual's needs.
• Conduct meal observations.
• Provide nutrition care instructions to individuals and their families.
• Assist in annual sanitation inspections of kitchens and food safety updates.
• Attend all necessary meetings and contribute relevant updates (life plan, res hab, nutrition dept meetings, etc.)
