POSITION SUMMARY:
Mackin Engineers & Consultants isseekinga detail-driven and innovative Mechanical Drafter/Designer to support the creation, development, and documentation of mechanical components and assemblies across a wide range of engineering projects. This role willbe responsible forproducingaccurate, high-quality drawings, bills of materials, and technical specifications that guide fabrication and manufacturing. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with engineers, project teams, clients, and vendors to translate concepts into precise, build-ready designs while ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements. From early design through final documentation, you will play a key role in bringing engineered solutions to life.

What you'll do:
- Create detailed part and assembly drawings with all required fits, tolerances, fasteners, and finishes.
- Follow customer drafting standards and engineering requirements when producing drawings.
- Use CAD and other software to develop, update, and organize technical information.
- Review and analyze designs, materials, and data to solve problems and ensure compliance with standards.
- Monitor and inspect parts or designs toidentifyerrors orchanges needed.
- Estimate materials, time, and resources for design and manufacturing tasks.
- Communicate clearly with team members, supervisors, customers, and external partners.
- Record,maintain, and update technical information throughout the project.
- Stay current with relevant technical knowledge, tools, and drafting practices.
- Build positive working relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
- Think creatively to improve designs and develop better solutions.
What we are looking for:
- Solid knowledge of design principles, drafting techniques, and creatingaccuratetechnical drawings and 3D models.
- Understandingengineering fundamentals, mechanical systems, and how designs translate into real-world manufacturing.
- Experience with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks or Inventor.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, apply drafting standards, and use engineering reference materials.
- Comfortable working with computers, electronics, and CAD-related software.
- Awareness of production processes, materials, and quality control considerations.
Education and Experience
- Training in AutoCAD through a technical school or vocational program; an associate degree is preferred but notrequired.
- Minimum two years of experience
- Strong skills in geometry, basic math, and physics to support precise design work.
- Clear communication skills and good command of written English
