Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our clinical team. This role works closely with providers and under the direct supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist in a primary care setting, helping patients improve mobility, function, and overall quality of life. The ideal candidate is patient-centered, detail-oriented, and passionate about supporting individuals on their journey to recovery and wellness.
Key Responsibilities

Implement treatment components and interventions according to the care plan developed by the Physical Therapist and supervising providers.

Instruct and counsel patients and caregivers in prescribed therapeutic exercises and functional training.

Identify patient needs and demonstrate compassion, empathy, and respect for individual differences.

Recommend appropriate modifications to treatment plans to ensure patient progress, safety, and comfort.

Apply evidence-based practices and the latest research to restore function, reduce pain, and prevent future injury.

Complete thorough and timely documentation to support the delivery of physical therapy services.

Collect and record accurate patient data, including functional measures and performance outcomes.

Maintain a safe and professional clinical environment, adhering to ethical, legal, and regulatory standards.

Stay current with professional education and continuing competency requirements.
Qualifications

Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapist Assisting (PTA).

Licensure: Active state license or certification to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant (required).

Experience: Previous experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant in an outpatient, primary care, or rehabilitation setting preferred.

Skills:

Strong understanding of physiology and therapeutic best practices.

Hands-on experience with therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, and physical modalities.

Excellent communication and instructional skills for working with patients and caregivers.

Proficient in healthcare documentation and electronic record systems.

Ability to lift and assist patients (up to 40+ lbs).
