JOB SUMMARYThe Manufacturing Technician I is responsible for supporting daily production activities to meet customer demand and production schedules while maintaining safety and quality standards. This role assembles and tests medical devices using specialized equipment, fixtures, and work instructions. The position works closely with manufacturing leads and team members to ensure efficient production operations and adherence to regulatory and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and test medical devices using specialized equipment, fixtures, and test systems
- Follow detailed work instructions and production procedures to ensure accurate assembly
- Work with Manufacturing Leads or Specialists to meet production schedules and customer demand
- Participate in basic problem-solving activities to support stable production operations
- Report issues related to quality, equipment, materials, or processes to the Manufacturing Lead or Production Supervisor
- Maintain and follow standard work procedures
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and DBS concepts within the work area
- Maintain 5S standards to ensure a clean and organized workspace
- Assist production teams with product processing and manufacturing tasks
- Follow company quality system policies and procedures
- Complete required production documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read and follow safety rules, operating procedures, and work instructions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes accurately
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Experience in medical device manufacturing
- Experience working with microscopes
- Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in environments with adhesives, solvents, and chemical processes
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, bend, kneel, crouch, and twist throughout the shift
- Ability to lift up to 10 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Ability to inspect small components for extended periods
- Close vision and color vision required
- Ability to follow controlled environment requirements including proper apparel and hygiene
