Materials Manager | Charlotte, MI

Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimize inventory levels to ensure production continuity and minimize carrying costs.
  • Oversee the procurement and sourcing of raw materials, components, and indirect supplies.
  • Develop and implement strategies for efficient material flow, warehousing, and logistics.
  • Collaborate with production planning to align material availability with manufacturing schedules.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the materials planning, purchasing, and warehouse teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in supply chain efficiency, lead time reduction, and cost optimization.
  • Utilize and maintain MRP/ERP systems for accurate material planning, tracking, and reporting.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in materials management, supply chain, or procurement within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for inventory control, planning, and procurement.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of inventory management principles, forecasting, MRP, and S&OP processes.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Experience with advanced planning and scheduling (APS) software
  • Proficiency in advanced data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SQL)
  • Experience with global sourcing and international logistics
