Location: Remote (100% telework within the United States or its territories with prior authorization)

Salary Range: $110,000 – $126,000

Job Summary:
The Master Scheduler plays a pivotal role in overseeing and managing project schedules for construction and facility-related initiatives within the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Program Management Office (PMO). This position requires expertise in scheduling tools such as Primavera and Microsoft Project, along with a deep understanding of construction project lifecycles. ​ The Master Scheduler is responsible for developing integrated schedules, tracking project milestones, identifying variances, and ensuring alignment with project goals. ​ With a focus on quality assurance and stakeholder communication, the Master Scheduler ensures timely delivery of accurate schedules and performance reports to support decision-making and project success.
Responsibilities/Duties:

  1. Schedule Development and Maintenance: ​
    • Utilize Primavera and Microsoft Project (or replacements) to create and manage project schedules. ​
    • Develop integrated schedules that capture all project timelines and interdependencies. ​
    • Update schedules monthly and ensure alignment with current project progress. ​
  2. Schedule Management: ​
    • Prepare comprehensive project schedules, manage milestones, and allocate resources effectively. ​
    • Review project progress, measure performance, and notify stakeholders of deviations from schedules or costs. ​
    • Create monthly performance measure reports, including progress, cost, and slippage data.
  3. Construction Scheduling: ​
    • Evaluate schedules provided by contractors, agencies, and internal entities to ensure they meet project requirements and have sound logic. ​
    • Provide recommendations for schedule improvements and corrections. ​
  4. Variance Reporting: ​
    • Produce Progress Variance Reports to highlight discrepancies in project schedules or estimated costs. ​
    • Load approved integrated schedules into electronic file formats for government review. ​
  5. Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure all schedules are accurate, logical, and meet project requirements. ​
    • Conduct quality assurance checks to maintain consistency and reliability in scheduling efforts. ​
  6. Stakeholder Communication: ​
    • Collaborate with project managers, government clients, and other stakeholders to ensure schedules align with project goals.
    • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management.

Qualifications:

  • 10 or more years of experience in scheduling, project management, or construction scheduling. ​
  • Experience with Primavera and Microsoft Project is mandatory. ​
  • Prior experience in construction scheduling efforts is highly preferred
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills. ​
  • Ability to manage multiple schedules and projects simultaneously. ​
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills

Education/Certifications:

  • Master’s Degree is required
