About the Role
At Beth's Bar & Grill, we pride ourselves on providing a "home away from home" for our Olathe community. Our servers are the face of our brand—energetic, knowledgeable, and genuinely hospitable. We are a gastro "made from scratch" kitchen that focuses on high quality ingredients like grass fed beef and beef tallow.
Key Responsibilities
- Guest Engagement: Greet guests warmly, guide them through our scratch-made menu, and provide personalized recommendations.
- Service Excellence: Take accurate food and drink orders, use our POS system efficiently, and ensure orders are delivered promptly and correctly.
- Menu Knowledge: Maintain a deep understanding of our food menu, daily specials, and bar offerings (including craft beers and cocktails) to answer guest questions confidently.
- Table Management: Monitor and service your tables continuously—anticipating needs such as drink refills, clearing plates, and processing payments.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with host staff, bussers, and the kitchen team to maintain a smooth flow of service throughout the dining room.
- Side Work: Complete opening, mid-shift, and closing duties, including rolling silverware, cleaning stations, and restocking service areas.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Previous serving experience in a fast-paced, full-service restaurant is preferred but not required for candidates with the right attitude.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills and a positive, outgoing personality.
- Multitasking: The ability to stay organized and calm while managing multiple tables during a high-volume rush.
- Reliability: Punctuality and a flexible schedule. Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Technical: Ability to use a touchscreen POS system accurately.
- Physical: Ability to stand and walk for long periods and carry heavy trays (up to 30 lbs).
- Legal: Must meet the minimum age requirement to serve alcohol in the state of Kansas.
