Role Overview
Performed objective assurance and consulting activities to strengthen organizational operations by evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management, internal controls, and governance frameworks. Acted as a liaison with Risk and Compliance functions and provided actionable recommendations to business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluated and monitored risk management, control, and governance practices across business units, identifying gaps and recommending improvements aligned with best practices
- Provided independent assurance and advisory support to business unit owners on risk and control effectiveness
- Collaborated with Risk, Compliance, and Operations teams to address regulatory and operational risks
- Reviewed and assessed Standby Letters of Credit, Guarantees, and Documentary Credits to ensure accurate construction and regulatory compliance
- Drafted and reviewed technical terms and conditions for standby and documentary credits to ensure clarity, enforceability, and risk mitigation
- Ensured compliance with AML, OFAC, and U.S. Anti-Boycott regulations within trade finance operations
- Delivered detailed feedback and reporting to business unit management, including risk observations and improvement recommendations
Technical & Regulatory Expertise
- Standby Letters of Credit (5–7 years’ experience)
- UCP 600, ISP98, and UCC Article 5
- Trade Finance risk and controls
- AML, OFAC, and U.S. Anti-Boycott compliance
Skills & Competencies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interpret and draft complex trade finance documentation
- Risk assessment, control evaluation, and governance advisory
- Stakeholder management and consulting mindset
