Overview
A leading Fortune 500 healthcare organization is seeking a Risk Analyst to join its Underwriting Risk Management team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with experience in auditing, eligibility verification, or healthcare underwriting. You’ll be responsible for conducting eligibility audits, interpreting compliance guidelines, and collaborating cross-functionally to support small business medical plan operations.
Key Responsibilities

Perform eligibility verification audits on in-force groups to ensure compliance with small employer definitions and benefit contract terms.

Review and reconcile tax documentation to confirm both group and member-level eligibility.

Communicate findings and audit outcomes clearly to internal teams such as underwriting, sales, customer service, and agents.

Interpret and apply group policy terms, compliance regulations, and legislative requirements.

Maintain and update audit tracking databases and documentation accurately.

Meet all productivity, turnaround time (TAT), and quality goals established by management.

Maintain a thorough understanding of HIPAA, PHI, and related privacy regulations.

Proactively identify and resolve issues while maintaining strong business relationships across teams.
Qualifications
Required:

1+ year of experience in insurance, healthcare, auditing, underwriting, or enrollment.

Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.

Familiarity with insurance industry practices and products.

Ability to meet performance goals and adapt to new systems or platforms.
Preferred:

Experience reviewing tax documents in an audit or verification capacity.

Knowledge of small business insurance requirements and group eligibility rules.

Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills.

Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Working knowledge of HIPAA, ACA, PHI, and PII compliance standards.
Team Environment
You’ll join a 15-person team of eligibility experts who specialize in small business medical plan verification. The group values collaboration, accuracy, and integrity, maintaining a supportive and professional team culture.
