Job Summary:
This position is responsible for the daily operations of our Compliance, Training Center and Maintenance Departments. Direct, plan, manage, and coordinate safety, maintenance, and training activities. Develop and maintain a clear strategy to support organizational growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise Training Center Manager, Fleet & Facilities Manager, and Compliance Specialist including selection, training, performance review and discipline
- Indirectly supervise a Warehouse Safety and Quality Lead to ensure safe and compliant warehouse procedures
- Track and report department KPIs and lead continuous improvement initiatives
- Monitor, recommend and document departmental policies and procedures
- Oversee maintenance functions, including communication and cost containment
- Maintain and enhance all safety and training programs, including for the DOL Registered Apprenticeship Program
- Monitor DOT/FMCSA/OSHA compliance and provide support to the HR function in the form of reviewing Motor Vehicle Records and performing Road Tests for incoming candidates
- Oversee compliance department which handles preventative accident training and planning, accident response, claim management, and all maintenance related functions
- Manage truck specifications and assist with fleet planning, buying new equipment, etc.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all work-related accidents and injuries including after-hours response
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Current DOT knowledge including hours of service
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Goal-oriented, able to work under pressure, prioritize and multitask
- Self-starter with strong organizational skills
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Logistics/Business preferred
- 5+ years of relevant experiencerequired
- Current CDL-A License preferred
