Job Title: Customer Service Specialist
Location: Stanford University

Pay rate: $25/hr onW2
Key Responsibilities:

  • Answer, process, page, and direct calls for the University, Medical Center.
  • Provide directory information, connect callers, and establish conference calls.
  • Page medical staff and respond to medical alerts (e.g., trauma, cardiac arrest, disasters).
  • Use automated paging systems and maintain on-call and reference documentation.
  • Perform administrative tasks, such as updating databases and generating reports.
  • Assist in call center performance improvement initiatives and mentor peers.
  • Adhere to console duty protocols and safety standards.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience: At least 4 years preferred in customer service or telecommunications.
  • Proficiency with phone systems and call center platforms.
  • Typing speed of 40–50 WPM; familiarity with MAC/DOS systems.
  • Clear English communication (written and verbal); tactful and professional demeanor.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to function effectively in a team.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and paging systems (preferred).

Work Schedule & Shift Information:

  • Training Period:
    Duration: 3–6 weeks
    Schedule: Monday to Friday, 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Post-Training Schedule:
    Fixed shifts between 5:00 AM and 11:30 PM
    Candidates will be pre-informed about their shift schedule.
  • Flexibility required for weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
  • Must be able to remain at console for three or more hours at a time.
