Job Description

Our client, a distributor in Taunton, MA, is looking for a Warehouse Director.

Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the Warehouse Director is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the warehouse facility, ensuring efficient order fulfillment, building a culture of safety, and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in warehouse management, logistics and/or supply chain management who are passionate about driving continuous improvement and delivering results-driven performance.

Monday-Friday, average start time 10am but will need to be flexible to maintain a presence at other shifts as needed.

Salary starts at $125,000/year, commensurate with experience

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the warehouse, including order selection, receiving, and inventory management of foodservice products. Direct oversight of inventory control.
  • Direct supervision of 150+ associates, including Warehouse Managers and Supervisors, covering three different shifts.
  • Manage and coordinate warehouse activities to ensure timely order fulfillment and efficient use of resources.
  • Develop and implement warehouse budget, with strategies to optimize warehouse operations, improve inventory management, and reduce costs.
  • Analyze profit and loss statements and KPI's to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective measures and report on warehouse performance metrics to senior management.
  • Collaborate with the transportation, logistics and supply chain teams to ensure seamless delivery of products to customers.
  • Execute management functions of staff selection, development, performance reviews to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Oversee maintenance of warehouse equipment and infrastructure to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement in warehouse operations.
  • Ensure safety initiatives within the department are being adhered to and that all associates are compliant with safety training by conducting associate observations, updating preferred work methods, conducting accident investigations to determine root causes, and participating in routine safety inspections.
  • Working in collaboration with the transportation management team, oversee shipping and loading processes daily to make sure all required documentation is accurately completed (including HAACP, food safety, and catch-weight documentation), that material is handled and stored correctly with a minimum potential for loss, and product is loaded properly in to trucks.
  • Oversee management of the sanitation/cleaning team.
  • Complies with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, AIB, FDA, USDA, etc.)

Qualifications

  • BA preferred
  • At least 6 years experience of warehouse leadership with a team of 100+ employees, including managers and supervisors
  • Ability to flex schedule as needed
  • Foodservice industry experience required
  • Experience with unions greatly preferred
  • Experience with developing budgets and working with KPI's and P&L statements
  • Experience with inventory control
