We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Quality Manager to lead our quality department. You will ensure that our manufactured products meet customer requirements, legal compliance, and pre-determined quality standards set by both company and international benchmarks. You will oversee a team of 4-8 employees across two buildings and product lines, and play a pivotal role in audits, both leading and participating in them. Your responsibilities will include performing process audits, leading training sessions to address issues, and ensuring non-conformity reports are resolved with effective corrective actions. Additionally, you will maintain and improve our Quality Management System to ensure compliance with certifications such as API Q1 and ISO 9001.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the quality department, ensuring products meet customer and legal requirements.
  • Manage a team of 4-8 employees across two buildings and product lines.
  • Participate in and lead both internal and external audits, including API, ISO, ABS, and NSF audits.
  • Perform process audits and lead training to address and resolve issues.
  • Ensure non-conformity reports are closed out with appropriate corrective actions.
  • Maintain and improve the Quality Management System to ensure compliance with management certifications.
  • Ensure raw materials are tested prior to use and that measuring instruments are calibrated.
  • Ensure no item of production is marked as QC OK unless it meets all specifications and quality standards.

Essential Skills

  • 10+ years of quality experience.
  • 3+ years of quality management/leadership experience.
  • Experience in completing and performing internal, API, ISO, ABS, and NSF audits.
  • Thorough knowledge of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and raw materials.
  • Experience in raw material and finished product testing.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and conduct detailed inspections.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • A firm, strict, and unbiased auditing approach.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Detailed knowledge of fiberglass raw materials, manufacturing processes, and product QC procedures.
  • Detailed knowledge of international standards related to fiberglass products.

Work Environment

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
