We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team. This temp-to-hire position requires local candidates who possess reliable transportation due to the extensive travel involved. While the main office is located in Farmington, travel to surrounding areas such as Glastonbury, Hartford, Plainville, and Avon will be necessary. Experience in a busy medical office is preferred, along with familiarity with Epic systems and surgery practices.
Responsibilities
- Schedule patient appointments and manage electronic health records.
- Assist in administrative tasks including authorizations and insurance processing.
- Provide excellent medical assisting services within a primary care setting.
- Travel to various office locations as needed, ensuring transportation reliability.
Essential Skills
- Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program or active CT CNA, EMT, Paramedic certification.
- Minimum 2 years experience in a busy medical office.
- Epic experience preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and surgery procedures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency in appointment scheduling.
- Reliable and flexible team player.
- Strong administrative experience.
Work Environment
This position offers a dynamic work environment with varying daytime hours Monday through Friday. Depending on business needs, the Medical Assistant will work either five 8-hour days, generally starting between 7:30-8:00 AM and ending between 4:00-4:30 PM, or four 10-hour days from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Schedules are released 1-2 weeks in advance. The role involves travel between multiple office locations, requiring a reliable vehicle.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $24.00/hr.
