Overview
LHH Recruiting is seeking a highly capable Operations Supervisor to serve as the right hand to our client in Phoenix, AZ on a direct hire basis. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced, hands-on environments and enjoys owning day-to-day operational challenges. The Operations Supervisor will support warehouse, distribution, facilities, and operational workflows while working closely with leadership and store managers to keep the business running smoothly.
This position offers strong long-term growth potential, including the opportunity to step into a senior leadership role over time.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Support & Oversight
- Act as day-to-day operational support for the VP of Operations, taking ownership of routine and unexpected issues as they arise
- Coordinate warehouse and facility needs, including equipment repairs, maintenance requests, and operational disruptions
- Serve as a problem-solver for daily operational challenges such as equipment downtime, staffing gaps, or facility issues
Facilities & Equipment Coordination
- Coordinate repairs and maintenance for forklifts, warehouse equipment, office systems, HVAC, lighting, and general facilities
- Perform light hands-on tasks as needed (e.g., changing filters, troubleshooting minor issues)
- Occasionally operate a forklift during peak demand periods (certification preferred but not required)
Leadership & Communication
- Work closely with store managers and warehouse teams to ensure consistent operations and communication
- Interact professionally with customers, vendors, and internal teams at all levels
- Make operational decisions independently and escalate critical issues when appropriate
After-Hours & Escalation Support
- Serve as an escalation point for after-hours operational issues and emergencies
- Proactively manage fire drills to minimize impact to operations and leadership workload
Travel & Multi-Location Support
- Provide limited travel support to the Tucson location as needed
- Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Process Improvement & Growth
- Identify inefficiencies and recommend practical process improvements
- Learn all aspects of operations with the long-term goal of assuming greater leadership responsibility
Qualifications
Required:
- Operations background in distribution, manufacturing, construction, or similar hands-on environment
- Strong decision-making skills and ability to work independently without constant direction
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and handle high-pressure situations
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Willingness to be hands-on and flexible with job responsibilities
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Availability for occasional after-hours support
Preferred:
- Forklift certification or prior forklift operation experience
- Experience supporting multi-site operations
- Exposure to warehouse, logistics, or supply chain operations
Pay Details: $50,000.00 to $60,000.00 per year
