The Experienced Helper must assist with a variety of residential and commercial plumbing repair, fixture replacement and drain cleaning. Ziegler Plumbing expects the Helper to have knowledge of basic tools, plumbing tools, and minor plumbing repairs. If the candidate is not currently a licensed journeyman or master plumber, the goal would be for this to be completed after entering the position or after obtaining enough experience.
The Experienced Helper is responsible for assisting in quality completion of each job, the safety of the customer and the Ziegler team, and overall excellent communication with the Lead Technician and Ziegler Office. The Experienced Helper will be supported by an excellent support staff to assure the job goes smoothly from a scheduling and parts ordering approach. The Experienced Helper position will participate in a wide variety of tasks each and every day depending on the service schedule. Work will be primarily in and around customer’s homes or businesses. The Experienced Helper will safely operate the service truck while on the road and on job sites, when needed. Experienced Helpers will assist in solving job site problems and anticipate needs and requirements to complete all tasks on time. Rotating on-call work schedule required (approximately 1 week per month).
Physical demands include, but are not limited to, being able to carry 75 lbs., handling large sewer cleaning machines (each van has a winch for ease of unloading and loading), and crawling under houses.
Job safety awareness at all times while on duty is imperative to assure the safety of customers, co-workers and self. Job preparation tasks include daily truck inspection, assuring all tools, equipment and material are loaded on the truck following the completion of the job, checking the job site prior to leaving thus assuring tools, equipment and unused material are returned to the shop. Employees must be at work by 6:45am each day.
Requirements: Pre-employment drugscreen and valid Virginia drivers license.
