Job Title: Biomedical Imaging Engineer
Overview:
This position is responsible for the repair, maintenance, calibration, and technical support of diagnostic imaging equipment within a healthcare environment. The Biomedical Imaging Engineer ensures equipment uptime, regulatory compliance, and supports clinical departments in delivering safe and effective patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on imaging systems.
- Provide high-level technical support and training to clinical departments.
- Maintain service documentation and ensure compliance with Joint Commission, FDA, and internal policies.
- Coordinate with vendors and OEMs for escalated service and equipment upgrades.
- Participate in equipment installations, evaluations, and lifecycle planning.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics Technology, or equivalent military/technical training.
- 3–8 years of experience repairing and maintaining imaging modalities (experience level dependent on position).
- OEM certification required.
- CBET certification is desirable.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and understanding of imaging workflows.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with PACS/RIS integration and DICOM standards.
- Familiarity with hospital safety protocols and regulatory standards.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
