Warehouse & Production Lead
Golden Valley, MN
We are a small, growing manufacturing company in the optical industry looking for a dependable, hands-on Warehouse & Production Lead to help manage our day-to-day warehouse and production operations.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys staying busy, solving problems, organizing people and priorities, and taking ownership of a facility. The right candidate will help coordinate a small production team, oversee shipping and inventory needs, and step in wherever needed to keep production moving.
This is a key role within our business with the opportunity for increased hours, additional responsibility, and future full-time growth over time.
What You’ll Do:
Shipping & Fulfillment (Approximately 2–3 Hours Per Day)
Pack finished orders into boxes for shipment
Include required marketing materials and inserts
Print shipping labels and prepare orders for pickup
Select the best box size and most cost-effective shipping option
Organize outgoing shipments for daily pickup by logistics providers
Handle lifting of boxes up to approximately 50 pounds
Production Support
Mix batches of our cleaning solution according to established instructions
Ensure product quality and consistency
Help on the assembly line and screen printing line as needed
Receive incoming inventory shipments and organize materials
Team Coordination & Leadership
Help organize and prioritize daily production needs
Assist with scheduling and coordinating a team of approximately 6–7 employees
Help keep employees focused, productive, and working on the right priorities
Communicate production needs and bottlenecks to management
Over time, this role may grow into more direct supervisory responsibility
Inventory & Quality Control
Monitor inventory levels and identify when materials need to be reordered
Help management anticipate future production needs
Ensure products meet quality standards before shipping to customers
Identify process improvements that can make the warehouse more efficient
Mechanical Troubleshooting (key requirement)
Help troubleshoot equipment or machine issues as they arise
Perform simple repairs or adjustments when possible
Escalate larger maintenance needs when necessary
What We’re Looking For
Reliable and punctual
Comfortable leading and coordinating a small team
Mechanically inclined and able to troubleshoot basic equipment issues
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Able to prioritize tasks and keep production moving
Comfortable standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 pounds when needed
Positive attitude and willingness to jump in wherever needed
Experience Preferred
Previous manufacturing, warehouse, shipping, or production experience
Experience leading or coordinating employees
Experience with shipping, inventory management, or logistics
Experience operating machinery or performing minor mechanical repairs
