Senior Estimator – Electrical Subcontracting
Location: Mount Vernon / New York Metro (with project travel)
Compensation: $140,000–$170,000 base (DOE)
A respected electrical subcontractor with a reputation for delivering excellence across commercial, retail, multifamily, institutional, and high-rise work is hiring a Senior Estimator to support their growing preconstruction team. This role is ideal for a seasoned estimator ready to take on significant responsibility while contributing to winning quality electrical work.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage electrical estimates on commercial, multifamily, and high-rise projects
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs, pricing, and subcontractor bid comparisons
- Work closely with preconstruction and operations on scope, constructability, and risk
- Coordinate vendor and subcontractor pricing and clarify project specifications
- Support value engineering, cost alternatives, and estimate documentation
- Help maintain databases, historical pricing, and estimating best practices
Qualifications
- 5+ years of electrical estimating experience, preferably within subcontracting
- Strong technical understanding of electrical systems and installation methods
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and scopes of work
- Experience with estimating software and competitive bid environments
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
