We are seeking a skilled Marine Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining marine equipment and vessels, ensuring optimal performance and safety. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment. The Marine Service Technician will provide exceptional customer service while delivering high-quality maintenance and repair services on marine assets.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on marine vessels using schematics and diagnostic tools
- Perform repairs and maintenance on engines, propulsion systems, rigging, sheet metal components, and other marine equipment
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, calipers, and precision measuring instruments to complete tasks accurately
- Conduct fabrication and assembly of parts or systems as needed for vessel repairs or upgrades
- Perform vehicle maintenance related to marine transport equipment
- Conduct heavy lifting and assist with rigging operations to ensure proper installation or removal of components
- Use ohmmeters, multimeters, and other electrical testing devices to diagnose electrical issues
- Maintain detailed service records and ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs, maintenance schedules, and technical issues
Skills
- Proven service technician experience with a strong mechanical background
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical diagrams
- Experience with electrical systems, soldering, welding, fabrication, and sheet metal work
- Familiarity with heavy lifting techniques and rigging procedures
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and general mechanical knowledge
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, calipers, precision measuring instruments, ohmmeters, and welding equipment
- Background in military service or experience working on complex machinery is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in sales or providing technical support is advantageous but not required
