Position Overview
We are looking for a Service Manager who has hands-on experience on Industrial jobsites, managing service crews, managing inventory. The ideal candidate will have a strong electrical background and proven leadership skills to oversee a team of technicians, manage service operations, and maintain strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the service department, including scheduling, dispatching, and project management.
- Lead and mentor service technicians, providing technical guidance and professional development.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical issues on cranes, hoists, conveyors, VLMs, Kardex/Remstar systems, and related equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures.
- Manage customer relationships, providing excellent communication and problem resolution.
- Track service performance metrics, prepare reports, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate with sales and engineering teams to support new installations and upgrades.
Qualifications
- Strong electrical knowledge required, including troubleshooting of industrial controls, motors, and automation systems.
- 5+ years of service or maintenance management experience in material handling or a related industrial field.
- Familiarity with cranes, bridge cranes, hoists, conveyors, VLMs, and automated storage systems (Kardex/Remstar preferred).
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Proficiency with service management software and MS Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.
- Consistently maintain the highest standards in serving the customer’s needs, including but not limited to, handling customer issues and complaints
- Maintain and strengthen customer relationships by acting professionally and as a representation of the Hoj values
- Must have a valid drivers’ license with a good driving record
- Must have U.S. Work Authorization
- Must be able to pass background checks and random drug screenings
