Job Description

The Department of Cardiology at our organization is on the lookout for a dynamic and experienced Fellowship-trained Heart Failure Cardiologist to become a part of our team. This unique academic role will span two distinguished campuses, primarily based at Staten Island University Hospital, with additional opportunities for transplant and LVAD management at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset. This dual-location position presents an outstanding chance to provide comprehensive heart failure care, addressing a wide range of disease complexities, from outpatient GDMT optimization to advanced surgical interventions such as LVAD implantation and heart transplantation.

This is a full-time academic role that offers extensive opportunities in clinical practice, research, and education. The ideal candidate should be board-certified or board-eligible in cardiology, possess advanced training in heart failure and transplantation, and have proven skills in GDMT optimization and complex hemodynamics. Experience in coordinating advanced therapies (LVAD/transplant) within a multidisciplinary heart team, along with a strong dedication to patient-centered care, education, and program development, is essential.

To facilitate a smooth transition, you will collaborate with partners who bring a wealth of experience across all cardiology specialties. A genuine sense of camaraderie exists within the team. Additionally, you will benefit from the resources and expertise of the largest health system in the New York Metropolitan area.

Our organization is committed to enhancing heart care by providing access to exclusive clinical trials, pioneering innovative treatments, and leading cutting-edge research that transforms patient care. By engaging in research and unique clinical trials, our physicians can offer patients the medical advancements of tomorrow, today.

As New York State's largest healthcare provider and private employer, we operate 28 hospitals and over 1,050 outpatient facilities, serving more than thirteen million individuals annually in the New York metro area and Connecticut, supported by generous contributions from our communities. Our workforce includes 104,000 employees, comprising over 22,000 nurses and more than 13,000 credentialed physicians, including members of our Physician Partners. We are dedicated to improving healthcare through breakthroughs in medicine at the Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research and training the next generation of medical professionals at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell and the Hofstra Northwell School of Nursing and Physician Assistant Studies.

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package. Furthermore, an academic appointment with The Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell will be aligned with your credentials and experience. Physicians will be employed as part of Northwell Physician Partners, the fifth largest medical group in the nation.
