Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years Stepdown RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Provide exceptional nursing care in a Stepdown/Progressive Care setting, supporting patients recovering from cardiovascular, thoracic, and vascular surgeries. This contract opportunity is based in Carmel, IN, on the Surgical Progressive Care Unit (SPCU) of a prominent healthcare facility. The unit consists of 23 beds with patient ratios typically ranging from 1:3 to 1:4, ensuring a manageable workload and attentive care delivery.
Shift Schedule & Hours:
- Day shift: 7:00 AM 7:30 PM
- Weekend rotation: Every third weekend, including Saturdays and Sundays (7:00 AM 7:30 PM)
- Weekly guarantee: 36 hours
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to stepdown patients focusing on cardiovascular and thoracic postoperative needs.
- Monitor and assess patient status using EPIC EMR system; maintain accurate clinical documentation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Adapt to floating assignments within related Stepdown/Progressive Care units as needed.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid RN license
- Minimum of 2 years experience in Stepdown or progressive care nursing
- Certification in BLS and ACLS required
- Experience with EPIC EMR preferred
