Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join a growing company in Johnson County. This role offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, supporting various accounting functions and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Duties
- Maintain general ledgers and complete the monthly closing process, which includes preparing and processing journal entries and reconciling accounts.
- Prepare journal entries.
- Record general entries.
- Assist with annual financial audits by preparing schedules and interacting with auditors.
- Monitor cash balances.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.
- Oversee compliance and reporting requirements.
- Maintain financial files in accordance with contract provisions and ensure compliance.
- Prepare financial analyses as directed.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as a Staff Accountant
- A Bachelor of Science in Accounting is a must
- Public accounting experience strongly preferred
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
