Duties:
Compensation & Payroll (Approx. 50%)
- Accurately process bi-weekly payroll for fewer than 100 employees, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
- Maintain and update employee payroll records, including deductions, benefits, garnishments, and other adjustments
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, providing timely and professional responses to employee payroll inquiries
- Prepare and distribute payroll and compensation-related reports for management and external vendors
- Draft and publish internal communications on payroll processes, calendars, and benefit updates
Benefits Administration (Approx. 30%)
- Serve as the primary administrative liaison with insurance and retirement plan vendors to support ongoing benefit programs
- Assist with annual open enrollment, including employee education, system entry, and coordination of related materials
- Process benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations promptly and accurately in applicable systems
- Reconcile monthly benefit invoices and resolve any billing discrepancies
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate records of benefit costs and contributions to support internal and external reporting needs
Training & Development (Approx. 20%)
- Oversee and support the performance management process, including system troubleshooting and employee support
- Coordinate employee licensing and certification programs
- Track and maintain records of employee certifications, renewals, and required compliance documentation
- Enroll employees in online learning modules
- Assist in scheduling and organizing training sessions, team development meetings, and other learning events
Qualifications:
- Formal education or certification in Human Resources preferred
- Prior experience in payroll, benefits administration, or general HR coordination is highly preferred
- Willingness and ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Exceptional attention to detail with a strong commitment to data accuracy and confidentiality
- Strong analytical abilities with experience in reviewing compensation data, benefit costs, and performance metrics
- Proficiency Microsoft Excel skills required
- Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal
