Job Summary
The Surgery Scheduler will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling procedures and surgeries for patients, including interacting with patients, families, hospital staff, and insurance companies. The role involves ensuring all necessary pre-operative requirements are met, handling insurance pre-certifications, and collecting patient payments.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in scheduling medical procedures or surgeries is preferred
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
- Strong communication and organization skills
Responsibilities
- Schedule procedures and surgeries for patients during clinic hours
- Arrange radiology/imaging tests as needed
- Provide instructions to patients on pre-operative requirements
- Obtain pre-certifications from insurance companies
- Collect patient deductible/co-insurance payments before procedures
- Coordinate with hospital and surgery center scheduling departments
- Confirm procedure details with patients prior to appointments
- Answer patient inquiries and address concerns regarding scheduling and procedures
Full-time position, requiring 36-38 hours per week
Office-based role with standard business hours
