Summary:
Provides medical care for patients in collaboration with a physician. Coordinates the clinical and administrative activities related to the office to ensure the delivery of quality, cost-effective patient care.
Responsibilities
- Examines, evaluates, diagnoses and treats patients to provide expeditious, high quality, customer focused care.
- Orders the appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures, and prescribes medical therapeutics as required to evaluate the state of the patient's medical condition.
- Interprets and integrates data to determine the appropriateness of the therapeutic treatment plan.
- Consults with supervising physicians in accordance with the practice's policies and medical standards to assure standards of medical care and patient satisfaction.
- Records all symptoms, objective findings, assessment, treatment plan and other information that is appropriate in the patient's chart and signs the record.
- Instructs the patient and family regarding the patient's diagnosis, testing, expected outcome and future prevention.
- Evaluates the outcome of the treatment plan by reviewing diagnostic results with the patient through phone calls and return visits.
- Performs total quality improvement processes and initiatives to achieve the Practice's mission.
- Responsible for following departmental policies and procedures to assure service with proper risk management.
- Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
