Position Overview
The Payment Posting Specialist is responsible for accurately posting insurance payments, transferring any remaining balances to the appropriate party, and making necessary adjustments in accordance with explanation of benefits (EOB) and contractual guidelines. This role ensures all transactions are balanced within the billing system and supports the resolution of accounts receivables through effective communication with medical insurance companies.
Key Responsibilities

Post insurance payments to patient accounts in alignment with EOB details and payer contracts.

Transfer remaining balances to the appropriate party and make adjustments as needed.

Balance posted transactions in the billing system daily to ensure accuracy.

Communicate with insurance companies to resolve outstanding accounts receivables.

Maintain detailed, accurate, and timely documentation of payment posting activities.

Adhere to internal controls, compliance guidelines, and confidentiality standards.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience

At least 2 years of experience in payment posting for medical billing.

Proven experience corresponding with medical insurance companies to resolve accounts receivables.

EPIC billing system experience preferred.
Minimum Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.
