The Sample Management Technician will join a dedicated team of technicians tasked with supporting QC sampling operations at the site. The team is responsible for the pickup and transport of GMP manufacturing samples to various storage locations within Quality Control (QC). Additionally, they sub-aliquot bulk samples into smaller portions as required by GMP documents and utilize the site's LIMS systems for generating sample labels and recording GMP transactions. This role works closely with the QC Laboratory Support functional team.
Responsibilities
- Pick up and transport samples from manufacturing areas to quality control testing/storage areas and report any sample issues to management.
- Receive samples into analytical and microbiology laboratories and manage storage units for QC Sample Management.
- Handle receipt and shipment of sample shipments, both incoming and outgoing.
- Work in a biological safety cabinet, wearing necessary gowning, to sub-aliquot bulk samples into smaller aliquots.
- Log samples into the LIMS system, label aliquots accurately, and store them as per label requirements.
- Communicate the status of samples for testing to cross-functional area teams.
- Assist in managing the team's inventory supplies stock.
- Maintain up-to-date training records.
- Train department employees in Sample Management tasks.
- Perform duties in strict compliance with SOPs, GMP, GLP, and Safety guidelines, maintaining necessary compliance status.
- Author Sample Management documents in the site electronic document management system as needed.
- Investigate and complete minor sample management deviations.
- Provide additional laboratory support duties to meet departmental goals.
Essential Skills
- Quality assurance and quality control expertise.
- Proficiency in sample preparation and sample management.
- Experience with lab preparation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a GMP manufacturing facility, preferably in sample management operations or a sampling role.
- Experience in a cGMP Quality Control laboratory is advantageous.
- Familiarity with sample labeling systems and inventory management systems is a plus.
- Working knowledge of GMP regulations and aseptic techniques.
Work Environment
The role follows a Monday-Friday work schedule with rotating shifts based on monthly assignments, either from 6am-2:30pm or 8am-4:30pm. The work environment requires familiarity with computer systems, software, and Excel. Employees must be comfortable working in a GMP environment with strict compliance to safety and quality standards.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Louis, MO.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
