We are seeking dedicated Construction Technicians to join our team in Front Royal and Winchester, VA. In this role, you will be supporting full site development operations by assisting equipment operators, pipe crews, and grading teams with various daily tasks that ensure the project progresses smoothly. This position involves physical labor, material handling, trench work, and general site support across excavation, utilities, and grading activities.
Responsibilities
- Assist with underground utility installation, including staging pipe, fittings, and materials.
- Support pipe layers by helping with trench preparation, backfilling, and compaction.
- Load, unload, and move materials, tools, and equipment around the job site.
- Perform site cleanup, debris removal, and maintain safe work areas.
- Help operators with spotting, fueling, greasing, and equipment maintenance tasks.
- Set up and take down temporary structures, barricades, and safety fencing.
- Use hand tools, power tools, shovels, rakes, and compactors as needed.
- Assist with grading, stone placement, and general earthwork support.
- Follow all safety procedures, including trench safety, PPE, and hazard awareness.
- Work closely with foremen, operators, and pipe crews to maintain production flow.
Essential Skills
- Previous construction or site development experience preferred.
- Ability to work around heavy equipment and active excavation areas.
- Familiarity with basic hand tools, power tools, and construction practices.
- Ability to follow directions from supervisors and work as part of a crew.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in general labor, construction, trench digging, manual labor, site cleanup, and moving materials.
- Proficiency in using shovels, digging, and operating skid steers.

Work Environment
Work primarily at active construction sites in Front Royal and Winchester, VA. Be prepared to rotate between these locations. Occasionally operate off-road trucks or skid steers. Maintain a safe and productive work environment while adhering to all safety protocols.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Purcellville, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
