A Mail Clerk is responsible for handling, sorting, and distributing incoming and outgoing mail within an organization. This role ensures timely delivery of correspondence, packages, and internal documents while maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail and packages
- Prepare and process outgoing mail, including labeling and postage
- Maintain logs of incoming/outgoing shipments
- Coordinate with carriers (USPS, FedEx, UPS) for pickups and deliveries
- Scan, file, and route documents to appropriate departments
- Ensure confidentiality of sensitive information
- Keep mailroom organized and stocked with supplies
Requirements:
- Basic organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to lift and move packages (typically up to 25–50 lbs)
- Familiarity with shipping software and office equipment (preferred)
- Attention to detail and reliability
