Job Description

Highly motivated and detail-oriented Bookkeeper with 5+ years of experience in a fast-paced environment. Skilled in all aspects of bookkeeping, including accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll processing, and financial statements & reporting. Possesses strong analytical skills and the ability to identify and implement process improvements for increased efficiency. Proficient in QuickBooks, Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Access), and Xero. Corporate & tax knowledge and experience required. Proficient and understand personal & corporate tax filings.

Your job duties will include assisting with preparation and filing of all tax returns, such as income tax, sales tax, property tax, and other relevant tax forms. Financial analysis. Maintains proper documentation and records to support tax positions and filings. This person must be extremely detail-oriented, organized, proactive, resourceful, and possess great interpersonal skills. It is essential to be a multi-tasking perfectionist, exceedingly trustworthy, and have a positive, flexible, and professional disposition.

This role requires schedule flexibility, with primary working hours of 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, and occasional weekends and evenings.

Responsibilities

- Update and maintain ledgers.
- Manage tax obligation & filings
- Record financial transactions accurately and maintain financial records.
- Reconcile bank statements and other accounts.
- Prepare financial statements (e.g., balance sheets, income statements).
- Process invoices and payments.
- Manage accounts receivable and payable.
- Manage tax preparation and filing.
- Understand and comply with relevant tax regulations.
- Assist in budget preparation and monitoring.
- May track inventory or other assets

Skills:

Strong accounting skills and knowledge of bookkeeping principles.
Strong Tax knowledge and compliance experience.
Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero).
Experience with payroll processing.
Ability to prepare financial statements and reports.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy.

Experience and Education:

Previous experience as a bookkeeper or accounting clerk.
An associate's or Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is often preferred.
Bookkeeping certifications can be a plus.
