Job DescriptionOptometrist or Ophthalmologist – Veteran Disability Assessments
We are looking for a committed Optometrist or Ophthalmologist to join our organization in conducting medical evaluations for U.S. Veterans as part of the VA's disability benefits process. This is an excellent opportunity to work with MRG Exams, where you will perform comprehensive eye examinations specifically for Veterans. This role is non-treating and does not involve making disability determinations; it is focused entirely on assessments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-person disability evaluations for U.S. Veterans.
- Review and interpret electronic medical records through a secure online portal.
- Perform detailed eye examinations, including Visual Field Testing (VFT).
- Document findings accurately and complete necessary VA forms.
Note: This position does not include treatment or medication prescriptions. Disability determinations are the responsibility of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), not the provider.
Position Details:
- Schedule: Part-Time, 3-4 days per week
- Location: In-person role
- Caseload: Average of 4-6 Veterans per day
- Equipment Provided: Computer and all necessary documentation tools

Requirements:
- Must possess an active and unrestricted license as an Optometrist or Ophthalmologist.
- Experience with Visual Field Testing (VFT) is essential.
- Comfortable using technology to review records and complete documentation.
