Job Title: Special Education Teacher (SPED)
Location: South Riding, VA
Position Type: Contract
Duration: 27 Weeks
Pay Rate: $40–$48/hour
Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,500–$1,800

Schedule & Shift

  • Shift: Day Shift

  • Hours: 7.75 hours per day

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 2:45 PM

Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to support elementary-level students with diverse learning needs in a school-based setting in South Riding, Virginia. This role focuses on delivering individualized instruction, implementing IEPs, and collaborating with educators and support staff to promote student success in an inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized instruction aligned with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications

  • Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse academic and developmental needs

  • Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and related service providers

  • Monitor, document, and report student progress in accordance with school and district guidelines

  • Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and parent/guardian conferences

  • Implement academic and behavioral interventions as needed

  • Maintain a structured, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state (Virginia), and local special education regulations

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Virginia Special Education teaching license or certification (required)

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field

  • Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred

  • Strong understanding of IEP development, special education laws, and instructional best practices

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills

  • Ability to support students with a wide range of academic, behavioral, and developmental needs
