CNC Machinist | Kentwood, MI

Salary Range: $45,000 - $76,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines (lathes, mills, grinders) according to specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and G-code programs.
• Monitor machine operations, detect malfunctions, and make necessary adjustments to ensure quality.
• Perform routine maintenance on machines and tooling to ensure optimal performance.
• Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and dimensional tolerances.
• Adjust machine offsets and tooling as needed to maintain part accuracy.
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic machine and production issues.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in operating and setting up CNC mills and/or lathes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and G-code/M-code.
• Experience with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to ensure quality.
• Strong understanding of tooling, feeds, speeds, and various material properties.
• Familiarity with CNC control systems (e.g., Fanuc, Haas) and basic troubleshooting skills.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360).
• Experience with 5-axis machining or multi-tasking machines.
• Ability to perform preventative maintenance and light machine troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of GD&T and experience with advanced metrology tools (e.g., CMM).
